Homemade Burger Sauce

If you’re anything like me, you love a good burger… but you also love staying on track. So yesterday, I made my burger a little differently by swapping the bread for roasted sweet potato slices and honestly? Game changer.
But the real star of the show is this homemade burger sauce.
It’s creamy, tangy, slightly smoky, and gives you that classic takeaway flavour without the heaviness. And the best part? It’s made with simple, wholesome ingredients I can enjoy often without feeling like I’ve “cheated.”
Here’s what I use:
60g Greek yoghurt (Herkulese Kolios)
1 tsp mustard
1 chopped pickle
1 tbsp pickle juice
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
15g light ketchup
1 tbsp water (to loosen it up)
Just mix everything together until smooth and creamy. The yoghurt keeps it high in protein and lighter than traditional mayo-based sauces, while the pickle juice and mustard give it that proper burger kick.
I layered my sweet potato “bun” with a juicy beef patty, this sauce, extra ketchup, and crunchy gherkins… and wow. So satisfying. Messy in the best way.
This is exactly how I stay consistent,
not by cutting out the foods I love, but by recreating them in a smarter way. And trust me, this sauce will be on repeat in my kitchen.
