Why Skipping Meals is Wrecking Your Hormones

A lot of people ask me, “How come you prep three whole lunchboxes throughout the day—apart from your snacks?” The simple answer: I don’t want to be hungry.
Skipping meals isn’t an option for me because I’ve learned the hard way what happens when I do. When you let yourself get too hungry, your blood sugar drops, and your hormones go haywire. Cortisol, the stress hormone, spikes, and hunger hormones like ghrelin go into overdrive. By the time you finally eat, your body is so desperate for energy that you’re likely to overeat. My biggest nightmare is usually after a long evening of filming. I arrive home at 9pm and raid the fridge or sunday lunch where I would have skipped breakfats and devour a whole basket of bread.
For me, prepping my meals ahead ensures I stay fueled, focused, and balanced throughout the day. Each lunchbox is filled with a good mix of protein, healthy fats, and carbs, keeping my energy steady and my cravings in check. Snacks? They’re my secret weapon to avoid that mid-afternoon slump or late-night fridge raid.
It’s not about eating “too much”—it’s about eating smart and keeping my hormones happy. Trust me, your body will thank you when you treat it with care, and you still get to lose weight.
