Why Collagen Deserves a Spot in Your Baking Routine

Collagen has been buzzing in the health and beauty world, and for good reason. It's the most abundant protein in the human body and plays a crucial role in supporting healthy skin, hair, nails, joints, and even gut health. While most people stir it into their morning coffee or smoothies, did you know you can bake with it too?

The Benefits of Collagen:

  1. Glowing Skin – Collagen helps maintain elasticity and hydration, reducing wrinkles and dryness.

  2. Joint Support – It keeps cartilage healthy and may reduce joint pain from wear and tear.

  3. Hair & Nail Growth – Many users report stronger nails and faster hair growth.

  4. Gut Health – Collagen contains amino acids like glycine and glutamine, which support a healthy gut lining.

  5. Muscle Recovery – Being a protein, it also aids muscle repair after workouts.

But here’s the best part: Collagen is heatstable, meaning it won’t break down when baked. So you can sneak it into muffins, protein bars, cookies, and even pancakes without changing the flavor or texture.

Chocolate Collagen Pancakes 🍫🥞

These pancakes are high-protein, chocolatey, and include a scoop of skin-loving collagen. Perfect for breakfast, a post-workout meal, or a sweet but guilt-free snack.

Ingredients:

  • 100g self-raising flour

  • 20g cacao powder (unsweetened)

  • 1 scoop +boost Supeer Multi collagen powder

  • 20g granulated sweetener of choice (like erythritol or xylitol)

  • 60g chocolate-flavoured yoghurt (Greek or high-protein yoghurt works best)

  • 150ml unsweetened almond milk

Method:

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the self-raising flour, cacao powder, collagen powder, and sweetener.

  2. Add wet ingredients: Create a well in the center and add the egg white, chocolate yoghurt, and almond milk.

  3. Combine: Whisk everything together until smooth and lump-free. The batter should be pourable but not too runny. Add a touch more almond milk if it’s too thick.

  4. Cook: Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour in about 2–3 tablespoons of batter per pancake. Cook for 2 minutes on one side until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another minute on the other side.

  5. Serve: Stack your pancakes high and serve with fresh strawberries dusted icing sugar or a drizzle of nut butter if you desire.
